Thought I'd ask managers to add their comments on why people should join.
The best thing about the game is that everything is individual, all your responses from coaches etc. It is all written by a person so you don't get any computer generated 'standard phrases', that you start to see repeated after a while.
Absolutely brilliant game, after 10 years I think that proves I like it!

I have been playing this since one of my friends recommended it to me ten years ago and since then some of my friends have started playing as well.
It really is a fantasy football game like no other. The freedom the game allows you is what makes it special. There are no limits on what you can ask your coaching staff to do for and this can lead to some very creative tactics on my part.
The best managers in the game apply there knowledge of world football to bring in the top players to their clubs, before others have heard of them. The transfer market is always very active and because there is only one of each player it makes it realistic. Players can be bought from any team not just the teams that have human managers.
I have in the past managed several clubs in the game - starting with Chelsea then Strasbourg, QPR, Southampton until now I have worked my way up to managing Man Utd. Each club has given me a different set of problems to solve. The smaller clubs are a challenge because money is scarce and you need to be astute in the transfer market or try and get a few young premiership players on loan.
With the bigger teams I have always tried to take advantage of having a large squad to try and put out a team to win the game. I have just played Tranmere in cup and I ommitted quite a few first teamers in favour of fringe players to try and make sure I didn't pick up injuries for that important league match next week.
For anyone that is thinking about playing just give it a try the fact that many of the managers have played for five years or more speaks for itself.

i agree with matt&oliver that if you ask staff a question you generally get a good response espec if you are specific. the freedom to run your squad & use the transfer market is also good(but it pays to ask your staff). i cant remember when i started playing in game 3 with m/boro but david hirst was still playing at sheff wed & wimbledon rode high in the lge. this just shows what a compelling game this is as so many people have played for so long.BUT IS THIS FREEDOM ABOUT TO CHANGE.an online game will be great but does the need to cut time spent processing each turn mean that we can no longer ramble on with tactics & have to condense our instructions to a line or two or even use pre defined tactics?with all the talk of paying too much for players i think that we pay what we have to...scout kaka price 18.75m,,,real life 4m,,,sold for 20m G5,,,still thats freedom as well.cheers.

The online game will not remove any of the things that players love, but for the the admin staff that run the game it will tie the pieces of the game together so they can process your turn more efficiently. I can tell you that honestly because I am currently making it!
There would be no point in taking any of the things out that make the game unique. There are simply loads of stat based games out there but none of them offer what Football Management does.
The game experience is set to be advanced, using the existing game a building block.

I have lost count of exactly how long I have been playing, but it must be four or five years now. To keep that level of interest up for that long is unheard off in other pbm footy games. Jorum Football Management is very different from the rest of the pack.
The main thing for me, like the guys above, is the personal nature of the responses, and the lack of "computer-generated" stock answers. After a while your backroom staff really do take on a life of their own, and the Jorum lads will take your lead in how they respond. If you use humour in your instructions, the replies will take the joke and run with it ; or if you take a hard line with under-performing players, they can either sulk or knuckle under, depending on the individual player and your man-management skills. You set the tone.
It is not just a "numbers" game either, where the manager who accumulates Ronaldo, Owen, Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard wins every week ! There is a hidden sub-text of team morale and player selection that means well-managed minnows with the right players in the right formation stand every chance of turning over a randomly rotated team of prima-donnas. Tell your backroom staff you want to take the players paintballing, or on a week's break at La Manga to play golf, and the team-bonding might well translate into better play on the field. I am a particular fan of taking my team to the local massage parlour (but let's not dig too deep into that one !). You won't find THAT as an option in other football management games !
You don't just need some football knowledge to play...you need to be articulate and imaginative too. Any fool can mix and match stock options on a form ; but Jorum will stretch your fooballing and communications skills to the limit.

I think the comment about massage parlours gave you away to be honest Martin.
